Favorite Christmas webpages for grandparents

Christmastime is a delightful season! Especially when you share it with your loved ones. Grandchildren love to receive thoughtful gifts from grandparents. But more importantly, grandkids love to feel that special kind of TLC that only Grandma or Grandpa can give. Whether it’s through a personal visit, a package of homemade goodies, or via some form of modern technology — connecting grand-to-grand is a special gift grandkids look forward to with an anticipation to outshine the jolly ol’ elf in the red suit himself. There’s lots of fantastic resources on the web where Grandparents can get ideas for projects, crafts, stories, gifts, etc. Grammy Tanda and I share with you here, our favorite Christmas webpages for grandparents. Some of these links are from our very own subscribers — other grandparents who have websites or blogs — with helpful ideas and tips for that loving connection with your grandchildren.
Uncles and aunts and cousins, are all very well, and fathers and mothers are not to be despised; but a grandmother at holiday time is worth them all. ~Fanny Fern

We know it can be frustrating at times to find what you’re looking for on the internet, so we hope these links will make it easier for you. Enjoy browsing our favorite Christmas web pages.

A very nice webpage!
Thanks for the great ideas on activities with the grandkids. I had an early Christmas gift by spending the weekend with them recently. Please see my blog about the easy gingerbread houses we made. http://onestoryatatime.blogspot.com/
I don’t have grandchildren, but it’s still a good list.
What a great list of Christmas sites for grands! Thank you for including Santa Songs!
Wonderful site, Joan. We can always count on you!
I’ll be revisiting this page later this week as Grandpa and I are heading back to Colorado to spend Christmas with 3 of our grand kids!
Here’s an activity I want to try with them, too, that you may find useful on your site. I found this on another site yesterday.
Take a cheap container of cinnamon and pour into a bowl. Add applesauce to thicken. After thickened and dried, use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Take a straw to punch a hole through the top. Use colored yarn through hole for hanging on tree. Take Elmer’s Glue and add colorful glitter to the ornaments.
The lady I got this from said her ornaments still smell fresh cinnamon, still, after 5 years!
I can’t wait to spend the week with my grand kids!
Best wishes your way!
Bev
Thank you for sharing the list! I’ll be travelling to be with my grandsons in Nebraska later this week.
Great Christmas Ideas Thanks
I love this list and feel very honored for my Childrens Book Review of “A Christmas Tree In The White House” to be on it. Thank you so much!
Wow!! Thanks for sharing all of these fun links. This is a great collection of a variety of wonderful ideas to use, share and save for later. We could always use some new ideas!! Thank you!
Great list!!! Now, all I need is time to read the sites . . .
Helpful ideas
What a great variety of ideas! I’m still a mom with young kids- and these ideas are great for me too. I especially liked the shrinky dink idea. I recently found some at a craft store and my kids had a blast doing it, but this site shares how to do it from recycled plastic– even better!
This is a super list!
Thank you so much for including my Christmas pages.
Wishing you and your family a Merry and Blessed Christmas -

Thanks everyone, for all of the wonderful comments.
@Beth – Thanks for the link to your gingerbread houses.
@Beverly Dawkins – Thank you for your cinnamon ornament recipe.
Tanda and I each have a few ornaments from our childhoods. We started the tradition of giving an ornament to each of our children while they were growing up. Many of these were handmade, which I think are the best kind. Now our grandchildren enjoy special ornaments each year.
